How we got the moon

Have you ever made a story about how we got our moon?

Term 2 N 2 10 spider facts

10 spider facts
 1. Large spiders can eat frogs,lizards and even snakes.
2. Tarantulas are sometimes so big their legs can span a dinner plate.
3. The deadly funnel-web spider will attack anything that moves even people.
4. House spiders actually help us by ridding our homes of insect pests.
5. A funnel-webs knife sharp fangs can easily pierce fingernail or bone.
6. A tarantula is a slow eater.
7. The female spider can lay up to 1000 eggs at a time.
8. Spiders range in size from a pinhead to larger than a human head.
9. All spiders are predators but not all are dangerous to human being.
10. Spiderlings can be as tiny as a pinhead when they first hatch.

Planet Earth & Beyond

This term we are studying 'planet earth and beyond'. Part of this inquiry includes looking at how we get shadows, as well as day and night. Over the term we will be doing different investigations to better our understanding. Below is a sample of my current thinking.

I have noticed that our shadows go the opposite way of the sun. The shadows get shorter as the day goes on but then they get longer but I don't know why?

Term 2

This term the value we are focusing on is Responsibility(Kawenga). I will take responsibility for my learning and deliberately enter the 'learning pit'. The Learning Pit from Kenilworth Learning on Vimeo. I use my initiative, as well as, take responsibility for myself and my belongings. I don't want to get 'stuck on the escalator'! This term we have been doing cross country practice. I love running and outdoors. We do cross country practice every Monday,Wednesday and Friday. Me and Jada are about as fast as each other. We do blog writing every day after lunch. Every Friday we do chapter chat. Every Wednesday we do Kidsedchat.
